More than 20 million Indians living outside India are forced to take unwanted holidays and take personal leave for Indian festivals. It is time to make a deal with respective govts.
Normally in most of the countries there are 10 national holidays and we are forced to celebrate memorial day, easter, christmas, new year, etc., while for our own festivals many of us have to take personal leaves. This is a double loss for Indians.
We should have the choice to have our 10 paid holidays and we should be ready to work on their holidays which we do not celebrate.
The 10 Holidays Indians should celebrate are
1. Indian Republic Day (Jan 26th)
2. Shivarathri (Feb)
3. Holi (Mar)
4. Indian New Year (Mar-April)
5. Krishnastami
6. Rakhi
7. Indian Independence Day
8. Ganesh Chathurthi
9. Dassera
10.Diwali
All Indian organizations can draft a request and propose this bill through their local representatives in the respective governments.
World will know about Hinduism quicker.
