At least 10 persons were feared killed when tribal militants raided a Nepali slum near Umrangshu in interior North Cachar Hill district on Monday night.

Police informed that militants belonging to Dima Halam Daogah (Jewel Garlosa) or Black Widow stormed Kamalabagan basti inhabited by Nepali people and opened indiscriminate fire from sophisticated weapons. About ten people were feared killed in the attack.

A team of police personnel from Umrangshu rushed to the area following the incident. So far two bodies were recovered from the incident site.
