Basavakalyan tense after Ganesha idol desecration

DH News Service Basavakalyan:
Tension prevailed in the city on Friday following desecration of a Ganesha
idol, at a temple situated on Pratapur road, triggering large scale protest
and a bandh in Basavakalyan.

The 6 ft tall idol was partially damaged by miscreants on Thursday night and
the chopped parts were dumped behind the temple.

According to some eyewitnesses, the miscreants had arrived in two cars and
fled the scene after the incident.
